Work starts on S3 of CBC’s Coroner

Coroner will debut on CBC in winter 2021

Production has begun on the third season of Canadian pubcaster the CBC’s drama series Coroner, following delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Inspired by the series of books by MR Hall, Coroner was created for television by Morwyn Brebner and stars Serinda Swan (Inhumans, Ballers) as coroner Dr Jenny Cooper.

Joining the cast in season three are Mark Taylor (Flashpoint) as Clark, a crown attorney working with Jenny on a new inquest, and Uni Park (Kim’s Convenience) as Melanie, the coroner office’s new pathologist.

Season three will include two additional one-hour episodes (10×60’) and is scheduled to debut on CBC in winter 2021. It is produced by Muse Entertainment, Back Alley Films and Cineflix Studios.

Morwyn Brebner is executive producer and showrunner, Adrienne Mitchell is lead director and exec producer for Back Alley Films, Jonas Prupas is exec producer for Muse Entertainment, and Peter Emerson and Brett Burlock are exec producers for Cineflix Studios.

Cineflix Rights has the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the series.
