Woodcut consults former A+E exec

UK factual indie Woodcut Media has tapped a former A+E Networks UK channel director as a strategy and development consultant.

Koulla Anastasi

Koulla Anastasi was the long-serving director of programmes for Lifetime and Crime + Investigation (CI) before her departure as part of wider cuts at the broadcaster over the summer.

In her consultancy role, Anastasi will report to Woodcut CEO Kate Beal and will focus on expanding the company’s international activity.

Her remit covers the strategic development of Woodcut’s international crime programming, building global partnerships and co-developing new projects. She will also continue to work on her own independent projects outside of her role with Woodcut.

At A+E, Anastasi was responsible for commissioning original CI series including Robbie Coltrane’s Critical Evidence and flagship documentary series Crimes that Shook Britain. She was also behind the roll-out of global hit franchises such as Dance Moms and Project Runway.

Anastasi previously worked with Woodcut on series Jo Frost on Killer Kids and Holloway: Women Behind Bars.
