Whoopi, Oxygen Strut their stuff

NBCUniversal-owned US cablenet Oxygen Media is preparing an unscripted series about a transgender modelling agency, to be exec produced by Hollywood star Whoopi Goldberg.

Strut will explore the work of Slay Model Management and its models who are attempting to become household names while changing gender and beauty stereotypes.

The show is being produced by US-based One Hoe Productions and 44 Blue Productions, with Goldberg exec producing alongside Tom Leonardis.

It is the latest show for US TV to explore transgender topics following the likes of Amazon’s scripted series Transparent and I Am Cait on E!. Oxygen’s other unscripted series includes Comedians of LA, Fix My Mom and Virtually in Love.
