Weather sends Fat Guys outdoors

US cablenet The Weather Channel has filmed a reality series in which couch potatoes come face to face with nature and learn outdoor survival skills.

Fat Guys in the Woods (8×60′) sees survival expert Creek Stewart take a group of ‘average Joes’ into the woods for one week of camping and foraging. Produced by Rivr Media, it premieres on The Weather Channel next month.

The network’s original commissions, which also include Catching Hell, Cold Water Captains and Tornado Alley, are sold internationally by the UK’s Passion Distribution.

“The series was filmed during one of the coldest winters in recent history, and viewers will see the central, and often critical, role that weather plays in people’s lives outdoors,” said David Clark, president of The Weather Channel.
