Watershed merges with Twenty Twenty

Warner Bros Television Production UK is merging its subsidiaries Watershed TV and Twenty Twenty to create a broader creative team.

Watershed will continue to be led by MD Mark Rubens and will keep its brand under the Twenty Twenty label, which is behind shows including The Choir for BBC and First Dates on Channel 4.

Rubens will join the senior creative team at Twenty Twenty – made up of CEO Tim Carter, incoming creative director Emma Willis and director of Programmes Lisa Edwards – to develop, pitch and produce shows.

Shed was renamed Warner Bros Television Production UK last June after Warner Bros Television Group took full ownership of the company.

Projects currently in production at Watershed such as Stacey Dooley’s No Place for a Girl for BBC3 will transfer to Twenty Twenty but be made under the Watershed label.

Warner Bros Television Production UK said the merger would create a “bigger company with emphasis in formats, documentaries, features and children’s programming, while strengthening its journalistic credentials with Ruben’s expertise and impressive track record.”
