WarnerMedia hires Henson for unscripted

WarnerMedia has appointed Fox’s VP of alternative entertainment as executive VP and head of unscripted programming for its TBS, TNT and truTV networks.

Corie Henson

Corie Henson will oversee unscripted creative development and production for the three cable brands. Henson will report to Brett Weitz, general manager of TBS, TNT and truTV.

During her time at Fox, Henson oversaw all development and current franchises, including recent hit The Masked Singer as well as MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, So You Think You Can Dance and all live event specials.

Prior to joining Fox in 2015, Henson was executive VP of unscripted at Electus and, before that, VP of alternative series for ABC. Her appointment at WarnerMedia was first reported by Deadline.

“We couldn’t be in better hands as we make a big push on our unscripted business,” said Kevin Reilly, president of TNT, TBS and truTV and chief content officer of HBO Max. “With Corie’s leadership, we intend to increase output and momentum in our already solid base of unscripted shows.”
