WarnerMedia adds Lionsgate, Fox execs

WarnerMedia has added executives from Lionsgate and Fox to the senior programming team for its forthcoming streamer.

Jennifer O’Connell

Jennifer O’Connell, whose exit from Lionsgate was reported yesterday, has been named exec VP of original non-fiction and kids, while Fox’s Suzanna Makkos has arrived as VP of comedy and animation.

Makkos and O’Connell join head of original content Sarah Aubrey at WarnerMedia, with Kevin Reilly heading up the forthcoming streamer.

O’Connell, who has been replaced at Lionsgate by Alice Dickens-Koblin, worked across the US studio’s unscripted business globally, with credits on shows such as Facebook Watch’s You Kiddin’ Me and Kevin Hart: What the Fit for YouTube.

Makkos, whose replacement at Fox has not yet been revealed, was exec VP of comedy programming and development and has credits on shows including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, New Girl and The Mindy Project.

Former NBC and Fox executive Reilly was appointed to lead the content strategy for WarnerMedia’s soon-to-launch streaming service late last year.

A launch date has yet to be revealed, but the service is set to offer content from across parent AT&T’s library, including shows from HBO, Warner Bros TV and Cartoon Network.
