VIZ brings Gakkimals to life

Gakkimals encourages early childhood learning

US-based Japanese animation provider VIZ Media has acquired rights to produce and distribute an animated series based on the children’s property Gakkimals.

The series is based on an original concept created by Japanese production duo PecanNuts and will be produced under licence from publishing house ShoPro.

It takes place in a madcap world in which musical instruments and animals combine to bring happiness and harmony to others, encouraging early childhood learning, VIZ Media said.

The original books and publications aim to inspire childhood learning through an eclectic cast of animal characters.
