Virgin tucks into Cake for kids

UK pay TV operator Virgin Media has bolstered its fledgling children’s entertainment app following a deal with distributor Cake for existing and forthcoming programming.

Virgin launched an app devised specifically for young kids last month with around 2,000 episodes of programming available on-demand.

Its latest agreement will see it add nearly 500 episodes of programming to the app, including titles such as Total Drama, Wanda & the Alien and The Sparticle Mystery.

It will also include a selection of titles that are currently in production, such as Angry Birds Blues and Piggy Tales: 4th Street.

David Bouchier, chief digital entertainment officer at Virgin TV, said: “The addition of programming such as Angry Birds, Total Drama and Wanda & the Alien underlines our commitment to a market-leading kids offer for Virgin TV.”
