Vice extends Antenna JV pact

Youth-skewing Vice Media has signed an extended joint-venture deal with Greece’s Antenna Group, making its content available on linear television in Russia and Central and Eastern Europe.

The companies first partnered in 2014 in a deal that saw Vice’s content broadcast via Antenna’s networks in Greece and southern Europe and then extended the agreement to new territories in 2017.

That agreement has now been renewed until 2024, extending Vice’s reach to Hungary, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Albania, North Macedonia, Bosnia, Cyprus, Montenegro, CIS, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

More than 250 hours of Vice content will be distributed across Antenna’s network annually.

“Our successful joint venture with Antenna has enabled Vice to expand into an area of the world where content made by young people isn’t widely available beyond our offering,” said Dominique Delport, president international at Vice Media Group.

“With production and distribution in the region, the Vice audience continues to expand, inform and influence our global content, especially our local coverage of the region.”
