Vice alum to run Peacock Alley scripted

Canadian prodco Peacock Alley Entertainment has hired the former director of development at Vice Media to lead its scripted slate.

Chantal Jackson is joining the Toronto-based firm as senior VP of scripted content and will relocate to LA in the new year to take up the role.

Jackson will spearhead an increase in the prodco’s scripted slate, expanding the current slate of drama, science fiction and crime fare, as well as identifying unique voices in comedy.

Prior to this Jackson was director of development and executive producer at Vice Media where she oversaw and produced content for millennials. She also had a stint as head of development at Breakthrough Entertainment’s Alternative Content label.

Peacock Alley is behind series including Travelers and A User’s Guide To Cheating Death for Netflix, Tower of Song: Leonard Cohen for CBC and PBS, Taste Testers for Food Network and Brave New Girls for E!.

The company is currently in production on the North American adaptation of the Emmy-winning Sky1 format 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy.

Jackson will report to Peacock Alley Entertainment president Carrie Mudd.
