Viasat World sends Epic Drama to CEE

Period drama Poldark is among the shows on offer from Viasat World

European pay TV operator Viasat World has secured carriage for its new Epic Drama channel brand across Central and Eastern Europe.

Cyfrowy Polsat in Poland, RCS in Romania, DIGI in Hungary, Slovak Telecom in Slovakia and the United Group across the Balkans will carry the network, which launches today.

Most of the brand’s 600 hours of drama content originated in the UK and Europe, complemented by series produced in the US, Canada and Australia.

Titles already acquired include Mr Selfridge, Poldark, Borgia, Versailles and The Miniaturist, which will either be available first-run or exclusively to the platform.

Viasat World operates 27 pay TV channels and on-demand services and has more than 145 million subscriptions in over 50 countries.
