Viacom rebrands MTV Hits

The new NickMusic will include music by Fifth Harmony

Viacom is turning its US cablenet MTV Hits into a 24-hour music channel aimed at children.

MTV Hits will be rebranded as NickMusic on September 9 and will feature music videos from artists such as Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony and Sia.

It will also include programming blocks hosted by guest artists as well as concert specials and series.

The move comes after Viacom rebranded another of its cablenets, VH1 Classic, as MTV Classic this month.

The revamped network airs series and music programming drawn from MTV’s history, focusing on the 1990s and early 2000s.
