Viacom, Mega team for survival

NATPE: Viacom International Studios (VIS) and Chilean media firm Mega have teamed up to coproduce a new survival reality show.

Resistiré is based on the original MTV format Stranded With a Million Dollars, and will be coproduced by Mega and Viacom-owned MTV, the first time the two firms have allied for a production.

The 95-episode series sees a diverse group of 24 adventurers from Latin America and Europe abandoned in the Andes without water, food or shelter but half a million dollars in cash. The group will have to work together to manage the money carefully to ensure they end up with a worthwhile sum at the end of the series. The show will test their strength, resilience, loyalty and survival instincts through the simple question: how much money would you be willing to pay to survive?

Shot entirely in Chile, Resistiré will premiere pan-regionally in March 2019 on Mega in Chile and MTV in Latin America.

“Having partners like Mega allows us to bring this new format to Latin America for the first time,” said Pierluigi Gazzolo, president of VIS parent Viacom International Media Networks Americas.
