Valkyrien visits Oz

Norwegian drama Valkyrien

SBS in Australia has picked up Nordic noir drama Valkyrien from financier and distributor About Premium Content (APC).

The eight-part series, produced by Tordenfilm for NRK and written by showrunner Erik Richter Strand (Occupied), revolves around an illegal hospital hidden in an Oslo underground station.

The broadcaster will air the drama later this year following the launch of the show on the UK’s Channel 4 in June. Valkyrien premiered on Norway’s NRK in January and has already been sold to broadcasters in Scandinavia and the US.

APC, a Nevision company, is handling worldwide distribution with the support of newly launched TV rights transaction platform TRX in some territories in Eastern Europe and Asia.
