V1 gets more Envy
Virgin 1, Virgin Media’s recently-launched entertainment channel, has added two new one-off commissions to its Envy strand.
TwoFour Broadcast, the production company behind the strand’s flagship Penis Envy, will also produce 1×60′ shows Boob Envy and Money Envy for the channel, which is carried on Freeview, digital satellite and Virgin Media platforms.
“Both Boob Envy and Money Envy embody the very spirit of original programming that we’re undertaking for Virgin 1,” said director of programming Celia Taylor. “They’re noisy, funny, smart and controversial with a real opportunity for shared viewing.”
Hosted by Penis Envy presenter Stephen K Amos, Money Envy will examine what it really takes to become a millionaire and question whether money can actually buy happiness.
In Boob Envy, Thaila Zucci (the ‘fake’ housemate Pauline from UK’s Big Brother) will follow four women with “breast issues,” investigating various enhancement treatments and questioning why so many women are unhappy with their size and shape in the first place.
Both documentaries will be executive produced by Stuart Murphy and Emma Morgan and are due to premiere in December.
