Universal Kids greenlights gameshows

MIPJUNIOR: NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s rebranded Universal Kids network in the US has greenlit two gameshow series from FremantleMedia North America (FMNA).

The Noise

The Noise is based on a format that stems from FremantleMedia Asia’s partnership with Fuji TV in Japan.

Hosted by Faruq Tauheed (BattleBots), kids are challenged to complete various tasks without making a sound in order to beat the Noise-O-Meter.

FMNA’s Jennifer Mullin and Joni Day serve as executive producers, with Michael Dietz as showrunner.

Beat the Clock originally premiered in the 1950’s. FMNA’s new version of the format will allow kids to team up with their parents, grandparents and other adult relatives in a race against time as they compete in challenges while trying to beat the clock.

Beat the Clock is hosted by Paul Costabile (NBC’s New York Live, iHeartRadio), with FMNA’s Jennifer Mullin and Joni Day serving as executive producers and Noah Bonnett as showrunner.

The Noise will premiere on Universal Kids on Monday October 23 while Beat The Clock will debut in the first quarter of 2018.
