Universal Kids finds Waldo

Universal Kids in the US is set to add a host of DreamWorks Animation Television programming to its slate, including an original series based on Where’s Waldo?.

Where’s Waldo?

DreamWorks Where’s Waldo? will debut on the channel in the fall of 2019 and will follow the character from the publishing phenomenon joined by Wenda as they circle the globe celebrating cultures and solving problems through observation.

Created by Martin Handford and first published in 1987, Where’s Waldo? has sold more than 70 million books worldwide, been published in more than 38 countries and translated into more than 30 languages.

“Where’s Waldo? has tremendous equity around the world and the ability to bring a character like Waldo to life on screen for a new generation is incredible,” said Deirdre Brennan, general manager at Universal Kids.

Universal Kids has also acquired numerous existing series from the DreamWorks library that were originally produced for Netflix, including Dragons: Race to the Edge and The Adventures of Puss in Boots.

The Mr Peabody & Sherman Show, All Hail King Julien, Home Adventures with Tip & Oh, Noddy Toyland Detective, Dragons: Defenders of Berk and Dinotrux will also air on Universal Kids.
