UKTV races to the Church

UKTV has ordered a new wedding format from ITV-owned Twofour for its Watch channel.

Get Me to the Church (6×60’) sees a bride or groom and their friends dumped in a far-flung corner of the world following a pre-wedding party.

Stripped of their possessions and with no local knowledge, they have to reach the church on time for the ceremony. If they succeed, they win a five-star honeymoon.

Ordered by Watch general manager Steve North and UKTV director of commissioning Richard Watsham, the series is executive produced by UKTV’s Helen Nightingale. Dan Adamson executive produces for Twofour.

Watch is also set to air a three-part series of authored documentaries from DJ Sara Cox, journalist and critic Grace Dent and singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Each hour-long show looks at the impact of technology on the women’s lives and careers through the themes of friendship, romance and celebrity.

The season is produced by Cactus TV with Amanda Ross, Victoria Summer and Grace Dent executive producing.
