UKTV back Inside the Ambulance

Inside the Ambulance airs on UKTV channel W

UKTV has commissioned three new seasons of hit original series Inside the Ambulance for its W channel.

Season one reached 3.93 million viewers in total. Seasons two and three (both 10×60’) will air consecutively in November, with a special titled Inside the Christmas Ambulance (10×60’) planned for 2018.

Inside the Ambulance, made by Brown Bob Productions, uses miniature cameras mounted inside vehicles and on crew members to show the work of the UK’s West Midlands Ambulance Service.

The new order was made by Natalie Rose, commissioning executive for UKTV, and Steve North, general manager for W. Rose will also executive produce the new seasons alongside Brown Bob creative director Jacqueline Hewer.

Other originals that have aired on W this year include John Bishop: In Conversation With…, which returns for S3 in September, and S2 of Dr Christian Will See You Now.

In 2016, UKTV committed more than £150m (US$198m) to new programming, which has resulted in a 40% increase in entertainment commissions and the biggest originals slate in the broadcaster’s 25-year history, with around 50 shows in production.

UKTV original factual entertainment formats The Secrets In My Family and Secret Life of The Ballroom will also arrive on the channel later this year.
