U-Next picks up Showtime drama package

Bryan Cranston in Your Honor

Japanese OTT platform U-Next has picked up a selection of drama series from US premium cablenet Showtime, a subsidiary of ViacomCBS.

Among the acquisitions are two existing shows – Your Honor, starring Bryan Cranston, and City On a Hill, starring Kevin Bacon – and four forthcoming series: video game adaptation Halo; Ripley, starring Andrew Scott; Viola Davis’s The First Lady (working title); and Yellowjackets, starring Christina Ricci.

Also from Showtime, the complete David Lynch series Twin Peaks has been added to U-Next today. The show originally aired from 1990 to 1991, before returning for another season in 2017.

Other Showtime titles added today include Red Hour’s miniseries Escape at Dannemora, David Duchovny-led Californication, Fox News origins drama The Loudest Voice, and Ray Donovan, starring Liev Schreiber.
