Twofour bolsters sales team

UK-based distributor Twofour Rights has appointed a former Zodiak Rights and ITV sales exec as it prepares to roll out a fresh slate of programmes at MipTV next week.

Rob Bassett is joining the sales arm of ITV-owned prodco Twofour as senior sales executive, managing distribution in Scandinavia, Asia, the Middle East and Israel.

Bassett has 15 years’ experience in film and television distribution including stints with Zodiak, ITV and, most recently, Getty Images.

Twofour Rights is attending the Cannes market next week with a raft of factual and entertainment series and formats.

The slate includes Indian Dream Hotel (aka The Real Marigold Hotel), which sees eight famous faces of retirement age head to India to recreate the experience of feature film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel across three hour-long episodes.

Strip Date (20×30’) takes two loveless singletons from different styles and transforms them into a vision of each other’s perfect date.

The Jump (format) sees celebrities trained in a series of winter sports by expert coaches and Olympians. The series airs on Channel 4 in the UK.

Culinary challenge Chopping Block (20×60’) is also on the slate.
