TVP joins The Passing Bells

Polish broadcaster TVP will air forthcoming First World War drama The Passing Bells from Life on Mars writer Tony Jordan, after signing a coproduction deal with BBC Worldwide (BBCWW).

The Passing Bells (5×30′) is being produced by Red Planet Pictures through BBC Cymru Wales Drama and tells the story of the First World War through the eyes of two young men who enlist in something they expect will be over within a few months.

The series was originally commissioned as part of BBC1’s programming season to mark the centenary of the war and will appear on Poland’s TVP in November. It will also be available in 4×45’ and 2×90’ formats, and is being coproduced by Polish prodco Apple Film Production and distributed by BBCWW.

It is the second collaboration between BBCWW, TVP and Apple Film Production following their alliance on thriller Spies of Warsaw.
