MIPCOM: New Zealand broadcaster TVNZ has commissioned a local version of a format about men’s mental health, having picked the rights up from London-based distributor TVF International.

The New Zealand version of Man Enough (2×44’) will be fronted by Celebrity Treasure Island host Matt Chisholm and will air this month on TVNZ1.

The two-parter was produced by Wellington-based production house Gibson Group during the pandemic.

In the series, Chisolm sets out on a personal journey into the hairy world of masculinity on a mission to break the silence around male suicide and challenge ideas about what it means to be a modern man.

He visits rugby clubs, construction sites, boardrooms, men’s barbershops and boxing gyms, asking whether men can be ‘Man Enough’ to open up.

Man Enough is being launched globally by TVF International this week at the virtual Mipcom market, alongside the original show.
