TVNZ, ABC track down Book Hungry Bears

Book Hungry Bears features four friends who love picture books

Broadcasters in Australia and New Zealand have come on board a preschool CGI animation series from New Zealand-based Pukeko Pictures, Canada’s Breakthrough Entertainment and Hengxin Shambala Kids in China.

TVNZ in New Zealand and ABC in Australia will air Book Hungry Bears (52×11′), which focuses on four bear friends who love picture books and go on adventures through the stories told in them. Every adventure finishes with the bears finding a book to share.

TVOkids and TFO in Canada commissioned the series, which was created by Pukeko Pictures’ co-owner and chief creative officer Martin Baynton.

The show is produced with backing from Shaw Rocket Fund and Canada Media Fund and made in association with Knowledge Kids.
