TVNOW upholds Eccho’s Honour

Heder (Honour) is produced by Bigster

MIPTV: RTL-owned streaming network TVNOW in Germany has picked up a Swedish thriller co-created and exec produced by four of the country’s top actresses.

Heder (Honour) follows four partners in a law firm whose reputation is suddenly at stake. As they start to receive a string of dark and sinister threats, they understand that someone is about to unveil a terrible secret that they have spent 20 years working to cover up.

Alexandra Rapaport, Julia Dufvenius and Anja Lundqvist star in the series, which they co-created with fellow actor Sofia Helin (The Bridge). Eva Röse (Maria Wern) is also a part of the lead cast.

The acquisition marks the second pre-sale for Honour, after distributor Eccho Rights first placed it with Belgian pubcaster VRT ahead of its pan-Nordic premiere on streamer Viaplay this autumn. The eight-part drama is produced by Bigster.

Nicola Söderlund, managing partner at Eccho Rights, said: “Germany is a key market for Nordic drama, but with a huge increase in quality productions coming from across the region, the competition is fierce and a series has to set itself apart from the traditional noir that has been so successful in recent years.

“Honour combines crime drama elements with warmth, humour and a unique female perspective that I think a lot of buyers have been yearning for.”
