TVE claims Crush in Spain

Mediapro gameshow format Crush

Spanish broadcaster TVE has greenlit two dramas and an array of entertainment shows for its networks, including the first format co-developed between Barcelona-based Mediapro and Madrid’s Phileas Productions.

Crush is a gameshow in which teams of four people must answer questions by standing on the answers they think are correct, or else they will be ‘crushed’ by locked safes.

The format is distributed by Imagina International Sales, part of the Mediapro Group that appointed long-serving Keshet executive Ran Tellem to its content team last year.

Producers in the US, France and Benelux have already picked up Crush for local adaptation after it debuted at Mipcom last October.

TVE has also ordered another season of Danish format comedy On the Edge, which was first produced by DR for its TV3 network. Known locally as El Forastero, the show sees comedians visiting local communities and is being produced with Barcelona-based prodco Brutal Media.

Also on the slate is Zebra Producciones’ family entertainment show ¿Y tú qué Opinas? (And What Do You Think?), plus drama duo Alma Mater and El Continental.

Alma Mater is from The Mysteries of Laura prodco Boomerang TV, while El Continental is being made by Spanish producer Gossip Events and Productions.
