TV5 Canada acquires Prime doc duo

The Edith Scaravetti Case: Criminal Women

Canadian French-language broadcaster TV5 Canada has acquired two documentaries from Paris- and LA-based producer and distributor Prime Entertainment Group.

The network has picked up stand-alone doc Lonely Motherhood (1×52’), which follows the journey of soon-to-be-mothers as they approach the challenge of single parenthood and the birth of their first child.

It has also bagged investigative criminal doc The Edith Scaravetti Case: Criminal Women (1×60’). The true crime title retraces the trial of French woman Edith Scaravetti, who was charged with manslaughter after killing her partner.

The deal follows in the footsteps of several others documentaries acquired from Prime’s catalogue over the years. Since 2018, TV5 Canada has bagged Love & Sex in North Africa (1×52’), The Juvenile Squad of the French Riviera (1×52’), The Mont Saint Michel (1×52’), Firefighters: A Summer on High Alert (1×52’), Unit of Difficult Patients: What Future for the Criminally Insane? (1×90’), Gypsy Weddings (1×52’) and Canadair (1×52’).

Prime Entertainment Group is also working with several others Canadian networks, including Discovery Canada, Hollywood Suite, Planète+, TFO, Société Radio Canada and Télé Quebec.
