TV4, C More return to The Sunny Side

Solsidan’s sixth season will air next year

Bonnier Broadcasting-owned Swedish network TV4 and its C More streaming service have ordered three more seasons of popular comedy series Solsidan (The Sunny Side), following a three-year absence.

Already boasting five seasons and a feature film, the series revolves around dentist Alex, his girlfriend Anna and their friends after the couple return to Alex’s sleepy home town of Saltsjöbaden.

Solsidan is coproduced by TV4, C More and local prodcos Jarowskij and FLX. Emma Nyberg is the producer, while Clara Herngren exec produces for TV4 and C More. Season six is set to land in late 2019.

“Solsidan, which is unique in its genre, has succeeded through a dream mix. It combines important and serious subjects while managing the art of being incredibly funny. I love that Solsidan has worked as a kind of laughter therapy for Swedish people,” said Josefine Tengblad, head of drama at TV4 and C More.
