TV3 signs up Sky Vision

Irish broadcaster TV3 has formed a distribution partnership with Sky Vision that will see the firm represent more than 200 hours of its programming.

Sky Vision, the international distribution arm of European satcaster Sky, will take over from TV3’s previous distributor DRG with immediate effect and is set to add a further 150 hours of TV3 programming to its catalogue between now and 2017.

Sky Vision claims to have more than doubled the number of hours in its catalogue since launching in 2012, and represents nearly 4,000 hours of programming, 80% from third-party producers.

Jeff Ford, TV3’s outgoing group director of content, said: “Sky is a major influential player in the industry so I’ve no doubt this partnership will pave the way for lucrative opportunities in new territories.”

Jane Millichip, MD at Sky Vision, added: “TV3 is renowned in the industry for its quality-led approach to generating exciting and commercially relevant content. I’m thrilled we will now be representing them internationally.”
