TV Norge restarts Lost in Time

Lost in Time in the Wild West

Norwegian broadcaster TVNorge has returned its interactive reality format Lost in Time to air, having had to postpone the show due to technical problems.

Lost in Time follows three contestants as they are transported into different eras, including the Wild West, the Ice Age and the Middle Ages, where they compete in a series of challenges against the clock to win a prize.

The primetime format, from FremantleMedia and technology firm The Future Group, uses ‘mixed reality’ technology to put contestants in the virtual worlds, with viewers also able to compete via mobile devices.

However, the show’s app in Norway was hit by server-related technical issues earlier this month that forced TV Norge to postpone the series after just its second episode.

Those issues have now been resolved and the show returned to screens on Saturday, with the third episode seeing two competitors, one in the studio and one at home, each winning 499,000 kroner (US$60,000).

Fremantle holds global rights to the format, which was one of its key shows at MipTV earlier this month.
