TV France Int’l picks Béjot’s replacement

French distributors association TV France International has named its new executive director, replacing long-serving Mathieu Béjot.

Sarah Hemar

Sarah Hemar’s appointment was announced by the group’s president Hervé Michel today and she will assume her new responsibilities in October.

The departure of Béjot was announced in April after 18 years with the group.

Hemar has spent her career so far in event management as well as the audiovisual and digital industries.

She started her career at EURO RSCG C&O (now Havas Paris) as an account director, then became associate director in 2014 when she founded the audiovisual business unit of the agency.

She founded her own factual prodco in 2010 and joined Mipcom organiser Reed Midem as digital exec producer in 2011. In 2015, she became part of Reed’s entertainment division new development team where she contributed to the development of digital projects and the launch of MipCancun.

TV France International is the trade association of the country’s TV programme exporters, including producers, broadcasters and distributors. Its remit is to promote sales of French TV programmes and to facilitate international coproductions.

It operates Screenopsis, an online database and screening facility for French content, and is supported by Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and Procirep.
