TV Azteca falls for Evermore

TV Azteca in Mexico has become the first Latin American broadcaster to acquire the rights to O3 Productions’ drama Evermore from Turkish distributor Global Agency.

Evermore has previously been sold to Tring TV in Albania, Nova TV in Croatia, Televizija Vijesti in Montenegro, BTV in Bulgaria, Hayat in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kanal D in Romania, Rustavi 2 in Georgia and Mega TV in Greece. The love story centres on two people from different backgrounds.

Brazilian broadcasters SBT and Band TV have also picked up shows from Global Agency.

SBT has commissioned a second season of Karga Film gameshow Keep It or Lose It, which is played in a giant shopping mall and offers cash prizes to contestants, while Band TV has acquired singing format The Legend.

In related news, Global Agency has unveiled a slate of shows for next week’s LA Screenings. Love for Rent, Grand Family and formats In & Out and My Wife Rules will be presented to US buyers.

Love for Rent was originally produced by Ortaks Yapım and broadcast on Star TV in Turkey. Grand Family is a drama in production on its third season and In & Out is a gameshow format that sees contestants gamble for cash prizes.

My Wife Rules is a couples’ cooking show that has been licensed to France 2, which has aired almost 100 episodes. The format was previously picked up by Mediacorp in Algeria, SBT in Brazil, Kanal D in Romania and Channel 7 in Thailand.
