Turner ups Arnesen again

Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) Europe has given Finn Arnesen his second promotion in just over a year, bumping him up to the joint roles of svp of original animation and acquisitions and international head of programme production outside of the US.

In July 2003 Turner appointed Arnesen as head of programme production for all non-US feeds, adding to his existing position as vp of programming, acquisitions and development for Europe. His promotion came as part of Cartoon Network’s $500m international development drive.

The new joint role means that Arnesen will now be responsible for original animation and acquisitions for Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Toonami throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and international head of programme production with responsibility for all areas outside the US.

Arnesen will now be reporting directly to Nan Richards, president of TBS Europe, Steve Marcopoto, president of TBS Asia and Juan Carlos Urdaneta, president TBS Latin America for his international responsibilities. Within his EMEA remit, he will continue to report to Tina McCann, svp and gm for Turner Entertainment Networks International.

“Finn is one of the original Cartoon Network Europe founders,” said McCann. “He has been an invaluable contributor and one of the key architects of our highly successful animation brands throughout EMEA.”

Productions from the Cartoon Network stable in Europe include The Cramp Twins and upcoming series Robotboy with France’s Alphanim and Chop Socky Chooks with the UK’s Aardman.
