Turner haunts Asia with first Taiwanese copro

The Haunted Heart has finished filming

MIPTV: Turner Asia Pacific has unveiled its first Taiwanese drama coproduction, a supernatural adventure series called The Haunted Heart.

The 30×60’ series comes from local prodco Phenomena, headed by award-winning producer and scriptwriter Xie Li-ju. Turner has taken distribution rights for much of Asia, plus the US, under the coproduction deal.

The Chinese-language series has just finished filming and will premiere in mid-2019.

Starring Bryan Chang (More Than Blue) and Nini Ou-yang, the story centres on a young female games tester with supernatural powers. After her boss dies unexpectedly, she uses her powers to solve mysteries by moving between the real, supernatural and virtual reality worlds.

The drama is backed by a Taiwanese Ministry of Culture grant and came top in the ministry’s scriptwriting competition back in 2012.
