Turner adds to Branco’s remit

Turner Broadcasting has promoted one of its executives to oversee its channels in the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Cyprus.

Pierre Branco

The territories have been added to Pierre Branco’s existing Northern Europe responsibilities as part of a management rejig.

Branco’s new title is senior VP and general manager for Northern Europe and MENAT and he will report to Turner EMEA president Giorgio Stock.

He took on Northern Europe in July 2017, reinvigorating Cartoon Network in the region as well as launching Turner’s first SVoD kids service Toonix in the Nordic region. The company also has a deal with Channel 4 to launch the Adult Swim programming block in the UK.

Branco previously oversaw Turner’s business in France and Africa, with both markets delivering record commercial and ratings performances under his leadership.

The MENAT portfolio comprises Cartoon Network and Boomerang English, Turkish and Arabic services, TCM and the distribution of CNNI.
