Dan Cohen became president of ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group last year in the wake of Viacom and CBS completing their merger at the end of 2019.

The company spent 2020 bringing its expanded portfolio together while at the same time navigating the coronavirus crisis and, in parallel with other US studios, putting increased emphasis on streaming.

Cohen spoke to Ed Waller about these changes, the way in which ViacomCBS is supporting the roll-out of its new VoD offering Paramount+ while continuing to license programming to third parties, the changing status of US cop shows and international coproductions.

James Burstall is CEO of Argonon, a UK and US production group comprising a collection of scripted and non-scripted companies, including Masked Singer UK maker Bandicoot.

Last year, while reconfiguring its business to deal with the pandemic, Argonon continued to make existing shows and secured new orders, rounding out 2020 with the acquisition of US branded content specialist Nemorin.

Burstall told Clive Whittingham about these developments, the human aspects of steering the company through the crisis and his plans for 2021, including more M&A activity.
