Jane Millichip is chief content officer at Sky Studios, responsible for editorial activities in the UK, including in-house and indie development on original drama, scripted comedy and documentary.

She took up the post earlier this year, having previously been chief operating officer and MD of Sky Vision, the distribution business she helped set up and merge into NBCUniversal following Comcast’s US$39bn acquisition of Sky two years ago.

As part of Content London On Demand – the virtual version of C21’s annual international TV conference – Millichip spoke to Jonathan Webdale about how Sky Studios has navigated 2020, continued to invest in original series and the company’s strategy for the coming year.

Hausen is a ground-breaking haunted house series from Lago Film, Sky Deutschland and Sky Studios, distributed by NBCUniversal Global Distribution.

Mixing horror, mystery and thrills, the eight-part series debuted in Germany on Halloween and centres on a 16-year-old and his father who move into a run-down housing complex on the outskirts of an anonymous city to become the building’s caretakers.

The pair slowly discovers the apartment block has a life of its own and is feeding on the suffering of those who live there, and the son must save his father from falling under its destructive spell.

Lago Film founding partner Marco Mehlitz, director Thomas Stuber and Sky Deutschland director of scripted production Frank Jastfelder spoke to Michael Pickard about the series, the first episode of which C21Pro subscribers can preview exclusively right now on our site as part of Content London On Demand.
