Former Bristow Global Media CEO Julie Bristow resurfaced recently with a new development and investment vehicle focusing on female stories and storytellers.

The Content Catalyst Fund aims to finance and develop unscripted and scripted content, helping female creators find an audience for their work.

Bristow speaks with Clive Whittingham about the venture, which is based in Canada but has an international reach and ambitions to work with women all over the world.

Carl Hall was founder of Parthenon Entertainment before selling the business to Sky in 2012 to form the basis of its own distribution division, which he spearheaded before stepping down a year later and returning to independent production with a company called Warehouse 51.

The business subsequently branched out into distribution with the launch of West One International and, following the UK satcaster’s recent debut of its Sky Nature channel, Hall has found himself once again selling wildlife documentaries back to his former employer.

He speaks with Clive Whittingham about how his company has navigated the pandemic and the situation has shaken up the distribution business amid a decimated events circuit.
