Today we hear from the creators of the new ITV comedy panel show Sorry I Didn’t Know, a bold and unapologetic format about black history that showcases comedians from diverse backgrounds who tend to rarely feature in such shows.

Host Jimmy Akingbola and show creators Minnie and Fraser Ayres talk about why it took four years for the project to go from pilot to series and the rising audience demand for celebratory black content, and not just during Black History Month.

Akingbola, actor and co-founder of TriForce Creative Network, joins TriForce director of operations Minnie and CEO Fraser to talk about their support service specifically created for production companies to diversify their workforces.

The trio tell Nico Franks about their show, which began airing in the UK in October, the social media reaction to it and its international potential, plus how diversity is increasingly becoming a deal-breaker for commissioners when it comes to greenlighting new shows.

C21FM is live 24/7, with a new block of interviews starting at 10am BST every day at c21fmradio.com. You can download the audio from the C21 Podcast by CLICKING HERE.
