The BBC Studios Showcase usually takes place in the UK city of Liverpool, but as with most events in the annual international TV industry calendar, this year’s edition is happening online.

The UK public broadcaster’s commercial arm is offering overseas buyers the chance to meet and hear from some of the world’s top programme makers and key commissioners about their latest projects.

Andre Renaud, BBC Studios’ global senior VP of format sales, spoke to Ed Waller about the challenges and opportunities last year presented, how the formats business adapted to the pandemic and the formats being offered at the 2021 virtual showcase.

Vice Media Group last year launched sales arm Vice Distribution and appointed former ITV Studios, Lionsgate and MTG exec Bea Hegedus to run it.

The company has recently revealed its first slate and Hegedus spoke to Karolina Kaminska about this, the new division’s strategy and what we can expect to see from it in the year ahead.
