Tug set for Global stage

Turkish distributor Global Agency will unveil 15 formats at Mipcom next week, including a new singing competition and a tug-of-war gameshow.

Stand By Me, created by Global Agency, sees celebrities pick a team of 10 singers to battle it out to become the next pop icon. As a preselected ‘juror,’ each celebrity also has to perform with the contestants and try to avoid round-by-round eliminations.

Meanwhile, Tug sees teams of three standing on moving platforms and taking turns in a trivia-based tug of war.

The goal is to reach the final round with as much money as possible, with victory reached by pulling their opponents into the zero-line in the middle.

The format was created by Israeli prodco July August Productions together with Michael Rothschild, founder and CEO of Vivalet Media. TV Format Fund provided finance for the development and secured the distribution deal with Global.

Other formats being presented in Cannes are live dating show Love Is Calling, style format My Style Rocks and gameshow Share or Dare.

These will join Keep It or Lose It, Battleship, The Exchange Project, Catch 21, Flirt or Fiasco, Stars On The Street, Divorce Honeymoon, Deal With The Crisis, Style Wars and Pictureka on the Global Agency slate.
