Bruce Tuchman, president of AMC Global and Sundance Channel Global, is stepping down in April.

Tuchman, who joined the AMC Networks subsidiary in 2011, will leave his post after MipTV in Cannes.

In a statement, AMC said: “He has been instrumental in developing Sundance Channel into a global brand and successfully transitioning the MGM Channel into AMC Global, positioning the business for future growth. We wish him well in his new endeavors.”

There are currently no plans to fill Tuchman’s role.

Harold Gronenthal, exec VP of AMC/Sundance Channel Global, who oversees programming and operations, and Ed Palluth, exec VP of global distribution at AMC Networks International, who oversees distribution and marketing, will now both report to AMC Networks CEO Ed Carroll.

AMC expanded Tuchman’s role in April 2014 to give him oversight of the company’s MGM Channel. He was responsible for expanding Sundance Channel’s footprint to 70 international markets and integrating MGM channels into the business.

Tuchman’s promotion came after AMC Networks’ US$1bn takeover of cable giant Liberty Global’s Chellomedia content business in February 2014. He recently helped bring shows such as Fear the Walking Dead and Into the Badlands to the AMC international channel.

The news comes a week after AMC Networks International Central Europe made changes to its Central European programming team. Last year, AMC Networks brought AMC and SundanceTV networks under the control of AMC president and general manager Charlie Collier.
