Sanaz Roohi joins as head of client services

TRX, the soon-to-launch online marketplace for secondary TV and video rights from Zodiak veterans David and Matthew Frank, has made two new hires.

Raquel Yepes joins TRX to manage all Latin American content rights, while Sanaz Roohi has been appointed head of client services.

Yepes’s previous clients include TV channels such as Telemundo, Fox, Discovery Networks, MGM and Mega TV in Chile. She has also worked as an executive producer for Zodiak Latino and Telemundo, among others.

Roohi, meanwhile, joins TRX from Zodiak Rights, where she was VP of international programme operations. She joined RDF Media in 2004 prior to its merger with Zodiak.

TRX was founded by the Frank brothers last year following their departure from Zodiak Media, which is currently in the process of a merger with fellow European production group Banijay.

With UK TV veteran Nigel Pickard as president, TRX aims to provide an efficient way to buy and sell secondary TV and video rights internationally and is due to launch this spring.

The two appointments come ahead of Natpe in Miami next week, which Yepes will attend alongside TRX colleagues Jennifer Buzzelli, senior VP for North America, and chief marketing officer Sarah Walker.

“The way we watch television has changed,” said Yepes. “Every day there is more content available and the distribution methods are constantly evolving to ensure the value of that content is maximsed. TRX, which will simplify and facilitate the exchange of TV rights, is part of this evolution,”
