TruTV shuffles execs

US cablenet TruTV has combined its development and original programming departments resulting in a reshuffle of its senior VP execs.

Chris Linn, who became president and head of programming in May, has appointed Marissa Ronca to head up the newly created department, where she will be senior VP of development and original programming.

Ronca, who has been at TruTV since 2008, was most recently VP of programme development and worked on shows including Hardcore Pawn and Impractical Jokers. She will head up a newly combined team that covers original programming from development through production.

Elsewhere Michael Lanzillotta has been promoted to senior VP, general manager at the channel and will oversee development at the network. He was previously senior VP of business affairs.

The restructure will see TruTV’s programming exec Darren Campo and senior VP of original programming Adam Dolgins leave the company. Senior VP of brand strategy and digital content Mary Corigliano is also exiting the firm, with a replacement currently being sought.

Both Lanzillotta and Ronca are based in New York and report to Linn.

“Marissa has led a diverse slate of development projects and has ensured that truTV is a producer’s first place of business,” Linn said. “By combining the development and original programming departments into one group under Marissa’s expert leadership, TruTV will be more effective than ever at fielding and responding to pitches, developing new ideas and managing projects from concept to series.”
