Three execs get tickets to Platform One

Jill Danton

LA-based producer Platform One Media has added three executives to its ranks, including a producer of shows such as Atypical and Star Trek: Discovery.

Jill Danton becomes exec VP of production at Platform One, which was launched last year with backing from telco Liberty Global and equity investor TPG Growth.

Danton has primarily worked on scripted shows, with credits on The Night Shift, Law & Order: Los Angeles, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Suburgatory.

Steve Lescroart

Steve Lescroart has been named head of finance and strategy at Platform One, having previously served as VP of corporate strategy at Legendary where he evaluated growth opportunities and led planning for it TV division.

Nick Reder has been named VP of business and legal affairs, joining from US law firm Behr Abramson Levy, having previously worked at Marvel Studios.

All three execs are based in LA, with Lescroart and Danton reporting to CEO Katie O’Connell Marsh and Reder reporting to Neil Strum, exec VP of business and legal affairs.

In related news, Erin Simon has been promoted to manager of creative affairs having previously been coordinator at Platform One. She will continue to report to Elisa Ellis, chief creative officer.

Platform One recently agreed a first-look TV deal with Jaywalker Pictures, the LA prodco set up by actress Laura Dern and Jayme Lemons, and is working on drama Kill Creek for Showtime. Its slate also includes Beacon 23 for Charter Communications’ Spectrum cable systems.
