Trident submarine drama rises at CBS

CBS is developing a drama series that explores a death aboard a US nuclear submarine.

Trident is being written by David Wilcox (Bull) and produced by US prodco Secret Hideout (Star Trek: Discovery) and CBS Television Studios.

The show explores how the death affects the crew and causes political problems that threaten a third World War. Wilcox is attached as executive producer along with Secret Hideout’s Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin.

US producer and distributor Sonar Entertainment boarded fellow submarine drama Das Boot late last year. The 8×60’ series, a sequel to the classic 1981 war movie, will air worldwide next year.
