Tricon Rocks to Brazil sale

Broadcasters from Brazil and Australia have picked up factual and documentary content from Canada’s Tricon Films & Television, including music biography series Rock Icons.

Globosat in Brazil has acquired Banger Films’ 10×30’ series, which profiles some of the biggest names in the history of music.

The broadcaster has also taken one-off doc Mars & Venus Today (1×60’) and has renewed the feature-length Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage, which explores the 40-year career of the cult band.

Australian broadcaster Foxtel has also picked up the Rush show in addition to Sistema Revolution (1×60’), which follows music education programme El Sistema and how the movement is catching on in communities around the world.

Meanwhile, Get Connected (113×30’), which reveals the latest technology products, has been sold to Accessible Media Canada, Al Hurra Middle East, Brand New Media Pan Asia and RTM Malaysia.

Sports Gone Wild (26×30’), featuring mistakes and extreme moments from the world of sports, has been sold to Digital Factory Italy for its Gazetta channel.

Discovery Poland has secured rights to Abandon Ship: The Sinking of the SV Concordia (1×60’) and Strong Technologies Africa has acquired Living Stories (6×30’), which focuses on six people of different ages who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Documentaries Tough Love (2×60’), which takes an in-depth look at child welfare systems, and Inocente (1×40’), the Academy award-winning short film about a young artist, have both been sold to Yu-Shiu in Taiwan.
