Travel Channel, T+E bewitched by Salem

The Witches of Salem

MIPTV: Travel Channel in the US and Canadian network T+E have ordered a four-part docudrama about the infamous 17th-century witch trials in Salem.

The Witches of Salem (4×60’) is from Blue Ant Media-owned Saloon Media, produced in association with Talos Films and the networks.

The show will explore the trials, which began in 1692 after a group of young girls in Salem, Massachusetts, claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft. In just 220 days, 200 were accused and 20 were executed.

It will draw on historical documents and court records, with interviews from sociologists, psychologists and cultural historians.
