TNT will coproduce Ausgebremst alongside local prodcos Poppular Productions and Atalante Films.

All ad revenues from the series will be donated to the #KunstNothilfe project, which supports artists and creatives whose livelihoods have been affected by the pandemic.

The five-parter will air on TNT Comedy and its sister channels TNT Serie and TNT Film in Germany. Filming is expected to begin this month in adherence to local safety regulations, with Lutz Heineking Jr directing.

Anke Greifeneder, VP of original productions for TNT channels in EMEA, said: “Good television is created by the teamwork of creatives both in front of and behind the camera. In times like these, we aim not only to entertain our viewers but also, as a producing network in collaboration with the amazing Ausgebremst team, to show solidarity with everyone working in our industry.

“By supporting this important arts and culture industry, we would like to do our part to ensure that all of us will continue being able to realise exciting projects.”

The show’s executive producers are Mark Popp from Poppular Pictures, Maria Furtwängler from Atalante Film and TNT duo Hannes Heyelmann and Greifeneder.
